Pre & Post Care

If approved by your primary care provider, avoid blood-thinning substances 1 week prior, including:

• Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin)
• Aspirin
• Aleve
• Vitamin E
• Fish Oil
• Garlic
• Ginseng
• St. John’s Wort
• Ginkgo biloba
• Primrose oil
• Avoid alcohol for 1–2 days before treatment.
• Bruising and swelling are possible (especially under the eyes).
• Schedule treatment at least 2–3 weeks before important events.
• Avoid dental work for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
• Arnica may be used prior to treatment to help reduce bruising (optional).
• Arrive with clean skin if possible:
• No makeup

• Treatment is not recommended if you:
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Plan to travel within 5 days after treatment
• Hydrate well:
• Drink at least 64 oz of water prior to your appointment
• Eat a good snack before arrival (blood draw required)
• Take Vitamin C (2000 mg daily):
• Start as early as possible prior to treatment
• To reduce irritation:
• Discontinue retinol and exfoliating acids 3 days before and 3 days after treatment

• Do NOT massage or manipulate the treated area.
• Keep your head elevated (above heart level) for at least 4 hours.
• Avoid:
• Exercise for 24–48 hours
• Aspirin for 2 weeks (unless prescribed—consult your provider)
• Ice on the treated area for 72 hours
• Hot baths, saunas, and steam rooms for 3 days
• For discomfort:
• Tylenol (acetaminophen) may be taken as directed

• Swelling and bruising are normal and will gradually subside.
• The treated area may:
• Appear uneven or asymmetrical (especially under eyes or lips) for up to 10 days
• Feel firm to the touch
• Results develop gradually:
• This treatment works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production over several weeks to months
• “Touch-up” treatments are typically not required
